Announces Promotions and Reorganization
of Five Senior Staff Members
January 6, 2007, Laguna Hills, CA - Vacation Resorts International (VRI) announces the promotions and reorganization of five senior staff members, poising itself for continued growth in 2007 and into the future.
Juanita Presley is assuming the newly created position of Vice Chairman/Secretary. Ms Presley has 30 years of tenure with the company, most recently as CFO. She will continue in support of Mr. Roy I. Fraser, Chairman and CEO of VRI.
Joseph A. Takacs, Jr. is now President and COO. Mr. Takacs has been with VRI for nearly 18 years and President for the last four years. In addition to heading VRI's management team, he is also the President of VRI Development & Sales; VRI's timeshare sales division.
With the promotion of Ms Presley, two of VRI's other long term financial team members are given the opportunity to expand and grow with the company. Bruce Quigley is being promoted to CFO. Mr. Quigley has been a California licensed CPA since 1980. Prior to joining VRI, he served as a senior auditor with a major, international CPA firm. While at that firm he also serviced VRI accounts beginning in 1978. Mr. Quigley joined VRI in 1989 and most recently served as Sr. Vice President of Finance.
Julie Macy is being promoted to Sr. Vice President of Finance. Ms Macy has been with VRI since 2001 and most recently as Director of Financial Services. Her responsibilities will include all functions of the Financial Services Department for the Central, Southwest, and Western regions of the country, with focus on overseeing the ex-ORE properties and offices as we continue to merge them into VRI.
Alex Fogel will assume responsibilities for VRI's Southeast Region as Sr. Vice President of Resort Operations. Mr. Fogel will oversee all VRI contracts from the Mid-Atlantic to Florida and will be based in Florida. Mr. Fogel will be a critical component as VRI continues to grow in the Southeast and looks to expand its International reach into the Caribbean. He has worked for over 20 years in the timeshare industry and was first part of the VRI team in the early 1980's. Along with Alex Fogel; the other senior VRI operations VP's are Stuart Allen (NE and International), Rich Muller (NE), Tom O'Brien (West), Royce Pennington (Central), Stacey Shilling (Administration) and Jan Samson (Business and Corporate Development). Together, those 6 people have a combined 81 years with VRI.
"We have several exciting initiatives for 2007, and one is to expand our internal exchange program, now called VRI*ety, that we acquired with the purchase of ORE in mid-2006," stated Joseph A. Takacs, President and COO. "We look forward to being able to integrate this program into many of the resorts that VRI is privileged to manage as a very cost effective, simple to use program for the owners. 2006 was also our first full fiscal year of sales with over $25 million in net volume. While most of that was with Vacation Internationale (VI), we are poised to grow our non-VI sales in the future and look to announce staffing for that division during 2007", added Mr. Takacs.
"VRI is coming off a banner year, experiencing a 35% growth in client base in 2006. All of the aforementioned moves of these talented team members are part of building our foundation for the future," says Roy Fraser, Chairman and CEO of VRI. "I am confident that we have the team in place to continue our growth and success during 2007 and into the future."
